UGREEN NASync iDX6011 Pro: compatible drives

In short

The UGREEN NASync iDX6011 Pro takes 6 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch SATA drives, each up to 32 TB by UGREEN’s rating, plus 2 M.2 NVMe slots. UGREEN keeps a compatibility list for it, but does not say that drives off the list are refused, so the list is a shortlist rather than a lock. Any CMR NAS drive works; SMR drives are the one type to keep out of its RAID arrays.

What fits the iDX6011 Pro, by drive type

From UGREEN’s published specifications (checked 30 September 2026). Prices for the drives that fit are on the best drives for the iDX6011 Pro page.

Drive typeWorks?Limit or caveat
3.5-inch CMR NAS hard drive (IronWolf, WD Red Plus or Pro, Toshiba N300)YesUp to 32 TB per bay by UGREEN's rating
3.5-inch enterprise CMR drive (IronWolf Pro, Exos, Ultrastar)YesLouder than NAS lines; fine where noise does not matter
2.5-inch SATA SSDYesThe bays are specified for 2.5-inch SATA drives too
SMR hard drive (many desktop and some older WD Red)AvoidWorks alone, but stalls a RAID rebuild
Drive larger than the per-bay ratingUnconfirmedUGREEN rates bays to 32 TB; larger drives are untested by UGREEN

Bays, per-bay limit and the compatibility list

The iDX6011 Pro has 6 bays for 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch SATA drives, and UGREEN rates each bay for drives up to 32 TB (208 TB across the whole box, by UGREEN's count). UGREEN publishes a compatibility list (checked 2026-09-30). UGREEN publishes a compatibility list, but it loads dynamically and we could not confirm iDX6011 Pro entries on it.

The UGREEN drive policy on the iDX6011 Pro

unrestrictedOpen. UGREEN mandates no drive brand ("UGREEN NASync is widely compatible with third-party hard drives"), and its compatibility list is a recommendation, not a lock.

Keep calculating

To see how much capacity is left after parity, the iDX6011 Pro capacity calculator is preset to its 6 bays and RAID types. For the iDX6011 Pro, the wider basics of choosing a drive are in the buying guides, and CMR versus SMR explains why SMR drives do not belong in a RAID array. Frequently asked questions

Can I put third-party drives in the iDX6011 Pro?

Yes. UGREEN locks no drive brand on the iDX6011 Pro; its compatibility list is guidance, not a gate.

What is the largest drive the iDX6011 Pro takes?

UGREEN rates each of the iDX6011 Pro's 6 bays for drives up to 32 TB, 192 TB in all. Larger drives may work, but UGREEN has not said so.

Do 2.5-inch SSDs work in the iDX6011 Pro's bays?

Yes. UGREEN specifies the iDX6011 Pro's bays for 2.5-inch SATA drives as well as 3.5-inch, so a SATA SSD fits. For AI models, though, the M.2 NVMe slots are the faster place.

What M.2 drives fit the iDX6011 Pro?

M.2 NVMe drives up to 8 TB in each of its 2 slots. UGREEN does not publish the slots' PCIe generation or lane count.

Can I use SMR drives in the iDX6011 Pro?

Not in a RAID array. An SMR drive works on its own, but in the iDX6011 Pro's RAID it can stall a rebuild for days. Check the model number against the maker's CMR/SMR list before buying.
