Devin Chua works out which drives, which memory and which NVMe cache fit which NAS model at nasdrives.ca, and what the RAID choice means for usable capacity. He looks after the site's calculators and the per-model pages for UGREEN, Synology, QNAP and TerraMaster, including the honest read on each vendor's third-party-drive policy and the dated changes to it.

The core of his work is the fit question: not every drive belongs in every NAS. CMR or SMR, SO-DIMM or ECC, a free NVMe choice or a vendor list: Devin reads the compatibility lists and knowledge-base articles and turns them into a clear recommendation, including the honest answer that a paid upgrade is not worth it when the network is the bottleneck long before the drive is.

He ranks new drives by Canadian dollars per terabyte from the site's Amazon.ca price sync, keeps renewed, used and SAS drives out of that ranking, and says when our Amazon.ca feed has no current offer for a model rather than calling it unavailable in Canada.
