Owen Nakamura
Owen Nakamura is technical editor at nasdrives.ca and handles data checking. He makes sure the core figures in the database — bays, maximum capacity, RAM type and slots, supported RAID types, recording method (CMR or SMR) and workload ratings — match the manufacturers' public datasheets and knowledge bases. A drive whose recording method cannot be established does not appear in the CMR tables.
He also watches the Amazon.ca price sync: prices and availability are reconciled every six hours, and he checks that timestamps carry through correctly and that outliers are recognized as a bundle or a marketplace listing rather than the bare product. The note 'Data checked by Owen Nakamura' on the calculator and model pages stands for that number base: better to label a figure an estimate than to fake precision.
Where a spec cannot be sourced, it is left out rather than guessed.
