WD Red Plus & Pro Deals Canada – Prime Big Deal Days 2026
By Devin Chua · Data checked by Owen Nakamura · Updated Prices checked
WD Red Plus and WD Red Pro are the CMR members of the Red family; the plain WD Red in small sizes is SMR and does not appear here, and the table splits Plus from Pro so the 7200 rpm premium is easy to see.

Is it really a deal?
Of the 13 Amazon.ca listings we checked here, 0 are at or under the lowest price we recorded before the event and 1 is within 3% of it. The strongest is Western Digital 20TB WD Red Pro NAS Internal Hard Drive HDD at CA$1,200.59, against our pre-event low of CA$1,110.54 on Jul 14, 2026. 4 more show a cut only against Amazon's list price, which is not a price anyone usually pays. 7 are sold by Amazon US through Amazon.ca, which means shipping and returns cross the border. 1 is too new to our tracker to judge, and we say so rather than guess.
Questions about WD Red Plus & Pro deals
What is the difference between WD Red Plus and Red Pro?
Red Plus is the standard CMR NAS drive, rated for 180 TB a year. Red Pro spins at 7200 rpm with a 550 TB a year rating and a longer warranty.
Is plain WD Red OK for a NAS?
Not in RAID. The plain WD Red in 2 to 6TB sizes is SMR and can stall rebuilds; buy Red Plus or Red Pro.
Why is an 8TB Red Plus so expensive in Canada?
Mid-size NAS drives have been scarce in Canada this year. The verdict compares today's price with our own tracked low, not with Amazon's list price.
Red Pro or IronWolf Pro?
Both are CMR, 7200 rpm and rated for 550 TB a year. Buy whichever has the lower price per terabyte in the size you need.
