What can the DH2300 run?

On its Rockchip RK3576, ARM 8-core (Cortex-A72 and A53) with 4 GB, the sweet spot is Pi-hole / AdGuard Home, Vaultwarden. It cannot run Frigate, Virtual machines.
The cheapest NASync model and deliberately lean: 1-gigabit networking, 4 GB of soldered RAM, no Docker. Watch out for reviews that quote RK3588C, 8 GB and 2.5GbE: those are the DH4300 Plus specs, not the DH2300.

Plex
Plex runs on the DH2300 for direct-play only — the Rockchip RK3576, ARM 8-core (Cortex-A72 and A53) is ARM with no hardware transcode. Keep your library in formats your TVs and phones already play, serve it over 1 × 1GbE, and it is a tidy little media box; ask it to convert 4K and it stalls.
Jellyfin
Jellyfin runs in a container on the DH2300, but with the ARM Rockchip RK3576, ARM 8-core (Cortex-A72 and A53) it transcodes in software only. Lean on direct-play over 1 × 1GbE and it stays smooth.
Immich
Immich will install on the DH2300, but its face- and object-recognition leans on CPU the Rockchip RK3576, ARM 8-core (Cortex-A72 and A53) cannot spare, and its 4 GB of soldered RAM (no upgrade path) does not help ML that is compute-bound. Indexing a real library is slow; an Intel model is the honest pick.
Home Assistant
Home Assistant Container runs happily in UGOS's Docker on the DH2300 and barely touches the Rockchip RK3576, ARM 8-core (Cortex-A72 and A53). The full HA OS wants a VM, which this model's 4 GB ceiling handles only lightly, so take the container path here.
Nextcloud
Nextcloud will run in Docker on the DH2300, but its database-and-PHP stack leans on the Rockchip RK3576, ARM 8-core (Cortex-A72 and A53), so it feels sluggish under a few users. For a brisk private cloud, an Intel model serves it better.
Frigate
Frigate decodes every camera stream continuously and detects on each frame — work the DH2300's Rockchip RK3576, ARM 8-core (Cortex-A72 and A53) cannot shoulder (ARM, no hardware acceleration). This is not the box for Frigate.
Pi-hole / AdGuard Home
Pi-hole (or AdGuard Home) is trivial for the DH2300 — a few hundred megabytes in UGOS's Docker, sitting on your 1 × 1GbE as the network's DNS server 24/7. An always-on 2-bay NAS is an ideal host.
Paperless-ngx
Paperless-ngx runs in Docker on the DH2300, and its bursty OCR keeps the Rockchip RK3576, ARM 8-core (Cortex-A72 and A53) busy — fine for a modest archive, slower on big scan batches. its 4 GB of soldered RAM (no upgrade path) caps how much you throw at it.
Vaultwarden
Vaultwarden is one of the easiest wins on the DH2300: a Bitwarden-compatible password server in a sub-gigabyte container under UGOS, always available on your own 2-bay box rather than someone else's cloud.
Minecraft server
A Minecraft server starts on the DH2300, but the Rockchip RK3576, ARM 8-core (Cortex-A72 and A53)'s weak single-thread speed shows the moment a few players load chunks, and its 4 GB of soldered RAM (no upgrade path) is tight once a world claims 4 GB. Fine for a tiny world only.
Docker (general)
The DH2300 does run Docker under UGOS Pro, but on the ARM Rockchip RK3576, ARM 8-core (Cortex-A72 and A53) containers are slower and some images are missing, and its 4 GB of soldered RAM (no upgrade path) caps the stack. Treat it as light container duty — a Pi-hole, not a wall of services.
Virtual machines
Virtual machines need x86 hardware virtualization; the DH2300's Rockchip RK3576, ARM 8-core (Cortex-A72 and A53) is ARM, so it cannot run a VM at all. For a Windows or Linux guest you need an Intel or AMD model.
Surveillance recording
The DH2300 runs UGREEN's native camera app for a handful of streams over 1 × 1GbE — enough for a home. Pair its 2 bays with surveillance-tuned drives (WD Purple, SkyHawk) for the constant 24/7 write load.
Time Machine / backup target
Like every NAS, the DH2300 is an excellent Time Machine and backup target over SMB — set a per-user quota so backups do not fill its 2 bays. With 1 × 1GbE it soaks up a household's Macs and PCs effortlessly.

No. The DH2300's ARM CPU cannot hardware-transcode. It direct-plays files your devices already support, but 4K transcoding needs an Intel Quick Sync NAS.
